Aug. 1st '08: I revamped my doll FAQ. It's been long overdue.
-----
For the love of god, people, read this before asking questions. PLEASE.
First, here's some things you should know if you don't already:
1) What are these dolls?
My dolls are Asian Ball-joint dolls. As the name hints, they come from Asia (usually Korea or Japan) and they have ball joints. They're made of polyurethane resin. They are not made of plastic.
2) Did you make them?
No, not at all.
3) Do you make their clothes/paint the faces?
Yes and no. I mostly buy their clothing and have others do the face-ups. Sometimes I might clothes if it's something I feel I can do. Same thing with the face-ups. I'm not all that great at it, but if I have a blank head around and no one to send it to or no money for it, I'll do it myself. I'm getting better as I got along, but I still like to have other people do it for me.
4) Wait, but those are girl dolls, right?
ALL my dolls are MALE expect for two, Reila and Atori. For those who find that too hard to believe, I can provide proof XD.
5) How much do they cost?
It most depends on size and the company that's selling the dolls. They run anywhere from $200 (that's mostly for a tiny size) to $800 (for the big ones) in general. Most of the time this does not include clothing and face-ups.
6) Why are they so much?
A lot time, effort, and money goes into making them in the first place. These aren't dolls you just pick up in a box in your local Walmart either, each one is handmade to order and shipped right to your door. And, honestly, why does anything in any hobby cost a lot and does it really matter?
7) So where can I find these things?
There are more companies that make and sell them than you think. If you're worried about buying from some online shop you've never used, try ebay.
And now for the big ol' list of doll companies.

8) Where do you get the clothes, eyes, wigs, and all that?
I get things from all over. There's no one place I buy them from. You can get clothes, eyes, wigs, shoes at almost any website that sells dolls. Here are some links to sites that sell clothes, wigs, shoes, etc., but not dolls.

9) How many dolls do you have?
Not as many as you may think. Some of my dolls have no bodies, so I switch heads quite a bit. Currently, I have 9 complete dolls (6 larger ones, 3 smaller) and six extra heads. While some don't have bodies, I do still consider them a character all their own, since each one as at least some type of story.
10) So who are these guys and where are they from?
Okay, going to post a thumbnail to my dolls, their name, doll mold, and what company they're from here.

11) Can I buy your doll?
Uh, no. Unless for some odd reason I decide to sell one, which I have never done. I only buy a doll if I really like and I tend to get attached to my things, so selling is not likely unless I'm really hard up for money.
12) Why do you like these dolls so much?
I just do. Being able to customize and photograph them brings me a some joy, just like any hobby does.
13) Well you make me clothes for my doll?
That depends on what it is. I really don't think I'm good enough at most things to sell them, but if you're looking for a decent kimono or something like one, then I'm your girl. Anything else, I'm not sure. You'd have to ask.
14) Will you paint my doll's face?
No. I'm not good enough for this, really. Maybe some year I'll get there, but not now. There are lots of really good people out there that do face-ups for dolls, just have to look around a bit.
15) Where can I find out more about all this doll stuff?
I suggest joining this forum: [link]
There's some of everything on there. Links, photos, tutorials, customizers, even a marketplace.
And... that's it! For now. Seriously, guys, if you have any other questions, do comment and ask. If I think it'll do good up here, I'll add it.

Well my next WILL be Leo's body but after that I really want my MNF Shiwoo. I already have at least some of his backstory worked out and when he comes maaaaaaybe we'll find out a little more about Mir. Ooooh! (Since as of now no one knows anything about where he came from.)
